A video balun,CCTV video baluns, also known as UTP baluns and CAT5 baluns, allow CAT-5 cable and other twisted pair wire to be used in CCTV camera and HD security camera installations, is a device used to adapt the type of connection to allow the use of a UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) cable to transmit the signals from an analog camera instead of using a coaxial cable such as RG59. By using a video balun it's possible to replace the traditional coaxial cable such as RG59 or RG11 and use cat5 cables to transmit the video over long distances.
